Michael Burkard

I grew up in Connecticut where I started riding road and
mountain bikes on and off. Moved to CO in the early 90s and rode
mostly mountain bikes. Back to the East Coast in 1999 and split
my time between mountain and road biking.
In 2004 we realized Colorado was our home, and came back. Have
been road biking and training for Duathlon and Triathlons since
being back.
I am currently working for a biotech company in Boulder.
Wife Kandace Shepherd Triathlete, Kids Matt 9yrs knuckle
dragging baseball player, Kate my 7 year old skier, black lab
Tucker, Goldens Frisco and Comet.
My race background Colorado:
Harvest Moon Long Course Duathlon : 2005, 2007
Harvest Moon Long Course Triathlon: 2006.
Boulder Peak Triathlon: 2006
Boulder Beer Road Race: 2006
I enjoy bike racing because I like the people that you meet at
races. Even though we are all out there competing, everyone is
friendly and willing to help each other out. I also like finding
out how hard I can push myself and how much I can improve my
riding.
This seasons race goals are:
Ride several time trials Frost Bite, Haystack, Boulder
Wednesday Series. I would also like to ride two or three Road
Races and try riding a couple of Crits.
